Special location: First Presbyterian Church, 139 W. 8th St., Port Angeles
Our featured teller is author, former journalist , and Sequim pioneer Tim Wheeler. You will laugh and cry with the remarkable tales of the wheeler family establishing a farm in Sequim in the 1950’s.

Tim Wheeler was born Jan. 24, 1940 in Washington D.C. His family moved west to Seattle in 1947 and in 1948 moved to a dairy farm near Sequim. He spent his formative years helping with chores on the family farm, living in the old farm house on Bell Hill built by pioneer, John Bell. In the late 1950s the family moved to the old Ward farm on the banks of the Dungeness river. Tim graduated from Sequim High School in 1958. He graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts and also took classes at the University of Washington where he met his wife-to-be, Joyce who grew up in Bickleton, in our state’s “Horse Heaven Hills.” They have three children, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren every one of them “above average.”
He spent more than 40 years as a journalist writing mostly for the Daily World, currently the online publication, People’s World. He covered Washington D.C. and many other newsworthy locations across the nation and around the world.
